Harley Weir wants to photograph you for her second debut book…
The photographer Harley Weir wants to photograph you for her second debut book.
The British photographer Harley Weir has for many years explored the role of motherhood and childhood in both her fashion and personal work, and with the release of the photographer’s debut book just before Christmas, documenting the Calais Jungle, the photographer is back and working on her second book – set to explore gender roles, domesticity, motherhood, the female gaze, the body and the identity of individuals. Weir is currently on a European search to cast a mother who would be interested in being photographed during her pregnancy and birth for Weir’s second book, which will be out by the summer.
Weir’s recent voyeuristic Calvin Klein campaign, starring Klara Kristian, received lots of interesting debate, with some hailing it a celebration of female sexuality and others criticising it for its voyeuristic approach. The photographer also shot the new and very ambient Balenciaga campaign, in collaboration with stylist Lotta Volkova, as well as actively exploring her own personal work. Her first solo show at The Foam Museum, Amsterdam is currently showing until the end of February.
