Milan Design Week 2017: the events

Together with the Salone del Mobile, one of the greatest design fairs in the world, Milan is ready to welcome design-addicted and curious visitors with the countless events of the Fuorisalone, which will rock the entire city from April 4th to 9th, 2017.
Here a selection of the shows you can’t miss if you are in Milan with kids.
The Triennale Design Museum showcases Giro Giro Tondo. Design for Children, which is a new chapter of Italian design devoted to the world of little ones: it includes games and images that amuse children, the spaces within they take their first steps, and the objects they use to discover the world. The art direction of the exhibition was curated by Stefano Giovannoni, one of the most playful and pop Italian designers.
LAGO has set up a KIDS & YOUNG area… in collaboration with Hape, a German toys label, the Italian brand is researching new ways to sense the needing of little ones and develop design projects dedicated to them. The results will be featured in the charming Appartamento Lago in Brera. It will host, from today until Friday (17:00 – 19:00) Never Stop Seeding Kindness, a talking about childhood by Luca Fois, while Saturday and Sunday (10:30 – 13:00 / 16:30 – 18:00) a workshop about gardening.
MUBA will be the place to be for children: apart from the veteran Unduetrestella Design Week, the Museum of Children is hosting Alla faccia! an exhibition of drawings all about faces… and simultaneously at the bookstore 121+  you’ll find the rubber stamps set conceived by Olimpia Zagnoli and edited by Corraini… children can collect them and create their own funny faces.
Marni Showroom becomes for a week Marni Playland: the new furniture limited edition is showcased in a playground made of sand… not only children will have fun while interacting with design pieces.
The kindergarten Rigotondo in Brera, is once again hosting the Kids Corner Brera, a space in which children are free to play and have fun while the parents are strolling through the central district.
This year the partnership with Hasbro has resulted in the set up of different areas for boys and girls.
KDSGN brings kids directly  into the streets, instead. The initiative KDSGN go WALK, conceived for  children from 5 to 12 years and their parents, is an opportunity that not only embraces families with special proposals during the weekend, but also schools during the week. Children will discover what’s new and the secrets of any installation usually only for adults. Each visit will last about an hour and a half and will be conducted by a designer or a professional figure, who will make  the design a theme any child really fits. The tours are 5 and will cover the main areas of Milan Design Week: Tortona, Isola, Triennale, Brera, Porta Venezia districts.
