Disco Party by Oaks of Acorn

Celebrating three decades of iconic pop motifs, the FW 17 collection by Oaks of Acorn is saturated with cultural touchstones from the late 70’s and 80’s.
The collection’s key motif is a remix of roller disco iconography that pays homage to the musical icons that inspired it.
Gold records, glittery disco balls, stylized roller skates, and Bowie’s Aladdin Sane lightning bolts are mashed up in an infectiously fun, original house-drawn print.
Accordingly, Glam Rock Disco Party creatively employs preppy pleating, often in metallic fabrics for both skirts and peplum tops.
Tiered dresses with romantic smocking lend a quiet gothic romanticism, and understated bell sleeves adorn dresses reminiscent of 90’s baby doll shifts.
New to the collection is a luxurious, butter-soft lambskin bomber jacket with detachable faux-shearling collar, the result of a collaboration with Hong Kong based leather atelier Oldies.
Oaks of Acorn co-founder Bezanne Lau said: “Coming from a womenswear background, I don’t just look for comfort in my designs, I also emphasize trends and style,  and I want the little fashionistas to feel cool and confident in our clothes. My designs are very much inspired by the adult trends, and I am hoping to present a parents’ line someday!
We can’t wait to see this, too!
