The hyper-realistic Boyhood
How many times have you watched a movie that was so unique in his genre that you couldn’t really categorize it? Especially in a genre like the family drama it’s hard come up with new ideas, but Richard Linklater accomplished this task by realizing a movie that talks about the story of a regular young boy from texas that lasts 12 years long. The plot doesn’t seem to be too exciting and full of suspance, but what makes this movie so unique is the fact that it was filmed in more then 10 years.
This allows you to see the hyper-realistic physical growth of Mason, the main character.
In 160 minutes we can see the typical life of a teenager going to school, falling in love for the first time and smoking the first sigarettes. His life evolves in a natural and realistic way, and so does also the rest of his family’s life.
