Weiach, Switzerland: A Kindergarten to cuddle and snuggle

Weiach, Switzerland: A Kindergarten to cuddle and snuggle

The new kindergarten of Weiach, a little town about 25 kilometres from Zurich looks like a colourful space shuttle, which seems to have just landed in peaceful Switzerland… L3P Architects who had been commissioned for this project covered the outside wooden structure of the building with soft and fluffy Astroturf… the colours of this surprisingly different facade: bright fancy straw gold, olive-green and red cabbage… the whole kindergarten feels as cosy as a huge soft, cuddly toy inspired by Pippi Longstocking’s Villa Villekulla… for the inside the Swiss architects used simple, minimalistic forms and a gentle mix of warm colours, wood and loads of white… Pippi, Mr. Nilsson and the dapple grey horse might not be the only one’s who would immediately move in!
