Polka Dot Club & Misha & Puff: All Lovingly Handmade
This is a quite fascinating collaboration that grew out a reverence for each others work… Handmade in Peru, the heritage brand of teddy bears and stuffed animals will now be dressed with scaled down beautiful Misha + Puff merino knits. Inspired by traditional craft, each piece is handmade with patience and care using only natural fibers and natural plant dyes.
Polka Dot Club was founded by Jennifer Murphy, who learned to sew and make teddy bears from her mother, artist Patricia Murphy in the late 1980’s. Jennifer creates collectable bears and animals inspired by vintage mohair toys, selling one-of-a-kind and small limited edition pieces to collectors worldwide.
Misha and Puff is brainchild of Anna Wallack after her baby son spent his first New England winter keeping warm and cosy while swaddled head-to-toe in knits she had made… drawing on over ten years experience as a stylist, as well as personal understanding of what works well for little ones, Anna has created a collection that is unfussy… “I just love the thoughtfully designed and handcrafted”, she admits. Each Misha and Puff piece is lovingly hand knit in Peru by super talented knitting ladies in Lima. The knitting work that they do for Misha and Puff they either do from their home or at a knitting centre Anna established (which provides day care and meals) and allows them to support their families. Each knitter name you will find on the hang tag.
Such a magic team! We are thrilled!
