Antwerp with Kids

With its wide pedestrian areas and huge amount of bike lanes, Antwerp makes the perfect getaway with kids. The city is small and super easy to explore on foot, bike or stroller and all the main attractions are easy to reach.

Take your little ones to the Zoo, which is one of the oldest animal parks in Europe and very centrally located: definitely worth paying a visit. Don’t miss the shows organized within the park and the feeding moments! The Comics Station is another exciting attraction: opened in Spring 2017, this indoor theme park and playground located at the back of the Central Station building is based on Belgian comic strip heroes like The Smurfs, Lucky Luke, Tintin and many, many more. Jump the rooftop terrace of MAS museum, in the new trendy area of Eilandje of Antwerp, right on the Scheldt river, to enjoy the breathtaking view from the terrace of this impressive red building which is a true architectural gem.

Looking for a cozy and chic place to sleep in Antwerp living the city like a local and not a tourist? Zalig in Antwerpen is a beautiful 150 years old house nested in a quaint street.

The self-catered boutique Holiday home is set over five floors and can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. The ground floor has a café styled private dining room and kitchen while the cozy living room with fireplace is situated on the third floor. The bedrooms are located on the first, second and top floor. All bedrooms have a large open wardrobe hanging area and shelves and en-suite bathroom and toilet.

The house was recently completely renovated, restoring as much as possible the original elements such as oak wood ceilings, ancient tile floor and some of the characteristic wooden stairs. The use of concrete for new floors, bathrooms and kitchen in combination with wood and steel gives the interior a bohemian touch and an instant holiday feeling.
